Project Description
The eMetCO2 project brings together leading expertise to advance Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) technologies. It aims to develop a lab-scale prototype of an eNETmix-based electrolyzer for the electrochemical conversion of CO₂ into methanol, offering a cleaner and more energy-efficient solution at a transnational level.
•Develop an Advanced and Energy-Efficient Technology for electrochemical CO₂ reduction to methanol (eCO₂RR), integrating a novel eNETmix-based electrolyzer and innovative electrocatalysts.
•Enhance Global Awareness of the potential impact of this breakthrough technology as a viable CCUS solution, supporting a clean, sustainable, and secure energy transition.
Main Outcomes
A new electrolyser prototype will be developed for testing methanol production from captured CO2.
