Transfer of knowledge and technology to SMEs regarding CO₂ capture by absorption and solvent regeneration

Mobile test unit for CO₂ capture

The technology is designed to efficiently capture CO₂ from industrial combustion gases, particularly under low CO₂ concentration conditions where conventional technologies are less effective. Its mobile unit allows for easier installation across different industrial plants, connecting directly to existing processes without disruption, and demonstrating its decarbonization potential prior to full-scale technology deployment.

Process Overview

Flue gas scrubbing that removes impurities (e.g., particulates, SOx, NOx) to protect the capture solvent and equipment, ensuring optimal CO₂absorption efficiency.

The treated flue gas passes through the absorber where CO₂ reacts chemically with the solvent (e.g., amines) to form a rich CO₂–solvent solution.

The CO₂-rich solvent is heated in a regenerator to release high-purity CO₂ gas. The lean solvent is then cooled and recycled back to the absorber.

Condenses and removes excess water vapor from the regenerated CO₂ stream, producing a dry CO₂ product suitable for compression, transport, or utilization.
